According to Bloomberg, which cites people familiar with this matter, the banking giant Citigroup (C), is reviewing its partnership Metaco, one month after Ripple announced it had agreed to buy the crypto custody company for $250 million.

The report also states that Citigroup is now in talks with other custody providers.

Metaco was acquired by Ripple back in May. The announcement of the deal came after Ripple announced its ongoing legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. This is estimated to have cost the blockchain company around $200 million.

Citigroup selected Metaco in June of last year to be its custodial partner as it sought to expand into tokenized assets and other blockchain related products.

Citigroup and Metaco did not immediately respond to CoinDesk’s request for comment.
