The company has announced that the digital asset exchange platform Crypto.com is now registered as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) by the Spanish central bank.

After a thorough review, Crypto.com was granted registration to provide a range of products and services in Spain.

Bank of Spain launched a registry of crypto service providers by 2021. Since then, companies like Binance Bitstamp, and banking platform BVNK, have registered.

As soon as the European Union’s Markets in Crypto Assets framework (MiCA), now finalized, is implemented by member states such as Spain, new standards and requirements will be applied.

In a statement to the press, Kris Marszalek CEO of crypto.com stated that the VASP registration received from the Bank of Spain was the latest proof of our commitment to complying with regulations and working with public officials to responsibly advance blockchain and crypto technology.
